OTT giants, Netflix and Amazon, are paying more than the traditional big studios like Warner and Disney. With the exponential pay rise that has been witnessed of late, stars have benefited a lot due to OTT. As per the latest report, for the upcoming Knives Out sequels, Daniel Craig has been paid a whopping $100 million, which is approximately Rs. 744 crores. Apart from Craig, Dwayne Johnson has also been offered big sums of money. He will be reportedly paid $50 million, which is close to Rs. 372 crores by Amazon after the acquisition of Red One, which is his production. In addition to these two stars, Leanardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence will be receiving $30 million and $25 million respectively. It will be for their upcoming Netflix comedy Don’t Look Up. Julia Roberts too is in the bracket as she will be earning $25 million from Netflix for Leave The World Behind. It is well to be noted that Warner Media in a recent announcement confirmed, that they would release films in theatres and also on their OTT platform, HBO Max, and as a result, would compensate for the lower box office numbers with increased remuneration.
