Well, now, with things returning to normalcy, theatres too have opened their doors, much to the delight of the film fraternity and audiences alike, albeit with certain restrictions. There are certain protocols issued by the state governments that could affect the overall business of films in theatres. Sooryavanshi, which is regarded to turn the tables around for Bollywood, will release on November 5 amidst speculations of how an exclusive theatre opening is going to treat it.
Unlike the pre-COVID times, the movie will be released with a 50% occupancy in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh. Whereas some states like Telengana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Odisha, Rajasthan, Delhi NCR have allowed a 100% occupancy. A big commercial movie like Sooryavanshi will have to be very immersive to weave that magic at the box office and draw crowds.
