Debut director Majule’s Hindi film Jhund is trending today due to the teaser release. The Sairat director’s first Hindi film has raised a lot of hopes, only if he hasn’t bit more than he can chew. National audience tastes are a bit quirky.
Also the feel should be pan India and have a universal appeal, too much regional bias and cultural fixing may alienate mainstream audiences.
The teaser with a voice-over by Big B himself which says, “Jhund Nahi Kahiye Sir, Team Kahiye (Don Call Them Jhund Sir, Call Them Team).” The teaser shows a group of boys walking towards a confrontation. Ready with their weapons . Ajay-Atul’s music is becoming a bit predictable with the drums and the Ganapati kinds of beats and rhythms.
They are great, but they are getting idebtided with that a lot now, and that is not a good thing. The sound did not seem fresh at all.
Jhund is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, who is the founder of Slum Soccer’s. The film is set to release on May 8, 2020.
