The Kashmir Files, which has been a humungous hit at the Indian box office, is now on its way to the United Arab Emirates. Vivek Agnihotri disclosed a few days ago that the film had been banned there, but the cause of the restriction was unknown. The director announced on Twitter on Wednesday that the film’s prohibition has been removed, and that The Kashmir Files will be released in the UAE on April 7th. The Kashmir Files has continued to hold its position at the box office after a 19-day run, despite competition from Bachchhan Paandey and RRR, and has already surpassed the Rs. 300-crore milestone worldwide. The movie grossed a whopping Rs. 275.33 crore in India and another Rs. 27.94 crore in other markets, bringing the overall worldwide gross collections to Rs. 303.27 crore. The Kashmir Files is currently the 32nd film to gross more than Rs. 300 crore at the worldwide box office. In fact, the film’s box office success has surpassed that of the previously released Salman Khan movie Race 3 (Rs. 294.98 crore) and the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi (Rs. 294.17 crore). Despite receiving competition from the new release, RRR, The Kashmir Files will continue to be shown in theatres. According to current trends, the Vivek Agnihotri-directed film’s box office collection could eventually surpass that of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, which grossed Rs. 308.02 crore.
