Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon recently created history by making a debut flight into space that was operated by his rocket company, Blue Origin. In this historic journey, he was joined by 90-year-old actor William Shatner. While the actor took up the offer of traveling with Bezos in the debut flight, he wasn’t the only one from the Hollywood fraternity who was approached. For the unversed, Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin curated a list of around 600 dignitaries from across the world, who were given reserved tickets for a space experience. They were asked to pay $250,000 to come on board for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Another celebrity who was invited to join Bezos in the inaugural space flight was Tom Hanks. The actor, however, refused the deal. Tom Hanks recently appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show and was asked if he was indeed invited to fly into the space alongside Bezos, to which he said he was doing good, but he won’t pay $28 million for that. He added that one doesn’t have to spend a whopping amount to travel into space as it could be done even at home. After all, in his words, it’s just a 12-minute flight. When Kimmel asked him if he would have taken up the offer to fly with Bezos for free, the actor replied that he would have done it to experience the joy, pretending he was a billionaire.
