Its another first for Pushpa in Hindi as the movie crossed the estimated 1 crore mark on Saturday, the best ever by a film in the last 2 years. The film is estimated to have collected close to 1.25 crore more, which has bloated its overall Hindi count to a tentative 86.50 crores. The numbers come as a surprise, and that too, in this scenario where the COVID cases have been rising thick and fast.
Although there was a dip in numbers which was seen in the weekdays during week 4, the sudden spike has once again brought it to the point where when in week 5 of its release, one can see it in the 200 crore blockbuster club. There is still immense love and appreciation coming from all quarters for the movie, where there are reports of it being watched a second or third time.
That’s something which is very selective for any movie, and it’s quite heartening to see that for a project which is yet to scale that 100-crore mark. Pushpa has indeed witnessed a seesaw in its numbers during the journey, but what makes it a standout is its consistency in getting audiences from all genres and languages, even during the trying times that everyone is going through.
