Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s husband, Raj Kundra, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons for the last three months. His involvement in the pornographic racket and subsequent arrest has tarnished his name to a significant extent. Among the various names that popped up in the case was that of Sherlyn Chopra. The model-cum-actress had recently filed an FIR against Kundra’s alleging harassment and criminal intimidation. She had also called a press conference against both even though she was warned by the couple’s lawyers not to do so.
It is now learned that Shilpa and Raj’s lawyers have gone ahead and filed a 50-crore defamation suit against Chopra. The notice which has been sent by the couple’s lawyers alleges that the allegations put on them are baseless, fake, frivolous, without any evidence, and with an intent to defame and extort money. The notice further mentions that Shilpa Shetty Kundra is nowhere associated with the working affairs of the app, and it is an attempt by Sherlyn Chopra to malign her name and reputation to garner media attention and create an unnecessary controversy. It is also being mentioned in the notice that their clients would be initiating civil/criminal proceedings against Sherlyn before the court of law and thereby have filed a defamation case of 50 crores against her.
