Koozhangal, the Tamil film, is India’s official entry for the 2022 Academy Awards. The film is presented by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan and is directed by PS Vinothraj. It features the music of Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Vignesh, who has produced the film along with his fiancé and actor Nayanthara, took to Twitter to announce this news. His tweet read, there is a chance to hear- And the Oscar goes to…He added that they are just two steps away from a dream come true in their lives and that he cannot be happier, prouder, and content. Koozhangal was a part of the list of 14 films that was compiled by a 15-member jury for a screening process to select India’s official entry to the Oscars.
Apparently, Vidya Balan’s Sherni and Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham too were a part of it. However, it was Koozhangal that was given the ticket to the coveted awards. The movie has been a winner at numerous film festivals. The story surrounds a young boy and how his equation with his father, who is alcoholic and violent, pushes him on the quest of getting back his mother.
