Soorarai Pottru, the Tamil blockbuster’s Hindi remake, has been in the news for some time now. Reports of A-listers like Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, and John Abraham being considered for the Hindi remake’s lead role have been doing the rounds lately.
But as per the latest from the media quarters, the leading male actor has been finalised and it is none other than Akshay Kumar who will essay the role which was donned by Suriya in the Tamil hit. Akshay had reportedly been in talks with the film’s Hindi producers since last year and had also given the project his verbal approval.However, he has signed the dotted line now, confirming that he will soon be beginning the film’s shoot.
Soorarai Pottru’s remake will be set against a North Indian backdrop and Sudha Kongara Prasad, who helmed the Tamil project, will do the honours in the Hindi remake as well. The film is said to go on floors as soon as Akshay is done with his recently announced film, “Selfiee,” alongside Emraan Hashmi.
