Of all the movies that were announced before the pandemic was Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re as well. It had the likes of Akshay Kumar and Dhanush, and of course, teaming up with them was Sara Ali Khan. The wait is finally over as the trailer of the movie is out, with the release date officially announced as well.
Aanand L Rai has been a staunch believer of vibrant universes; Tanu Weds Manu is a testimony of it. In Atrangi Re as well, two people are brought together due to unusual circumstances, with a third also joining them. The trailer opens with a group of men abducting Dhanush and what we see next is him getting married to Sara. And hence begins the story of two who may or may not fall in love. It has always been two opposites coming together in an Aanand L Rai film; who can forget Tanu and Manu, as well as Bauua and Aafia, becoming a pair.
Besides the three stars, the movie also has AR Rahman join the forces with his masterful music. While Dhanush continues to be what he is known to be a powerhouse of talent, Sara Ali Khan matches his energy. Akshay Kumar’s role is mysterious in the film, and only the release can let us know how effectively he has been used in it. All and all, the trailer of Atrangi Re has managed to create a buzz already, and we cannot wait for the film to release on December 24 on Disney+Hotstar.
