Reunions are meant to fill your heart with nostalgia and emotions. And when you have something like a Friends Reunion happening, a hardcore fan is sure to empty the tissue box. The much-anticipated Friends: The Reunion started with David Schwimmer, aka Ross arriving on the old set at a Warner Bros. lot in LA, which was made up just how it was back in the day. In a matter of time, Phoebe, Joey, Monika, Chandler, and Rachel gathered to honor the iconic sitcom’s 25th Anniversary. It was almost a couple of hours special where the cast revisited key sets, tested trivia knowledge of the show, re-read their lines, and joined the late-night host James Corden for a joint interview that took place in front of a live audience. The actors got emotional as they reunited at the iconic Stage 24, which had been completely rebuilt, with Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad, Monika & Rachels apartment, and Central Perk, which had the iconic orange couch laid down. There were some priceless stories shared during the two-hour episode. One that amazed everybody was David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston revealing that Ross and Rachel’s real-life romance almost happened. There was some room for surprises too. Amongst the audiences were Christina Pickles, 86, and Elliott Gould, 82, who played Ross’ and Monika’s parents in the show. Towards the end of the reunion, we could see an emotional Mathew Perry comforted by Jennifer Aniston when the former talked about the bond they all share. Perry could recall that even at that time if any one of them would bump into each other at a party or any kind of a social gathering, that was it. That was the end of the night. They sat with each other all night long. Friends has always had a cross-generational appeal to it. The iconic characters and the sublime comic timing of each of them can put to test any blockbuster comic series of today. We hope that this reunion shouldn’t be the end of it as there is never going to be enough of Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monika, Joey & Phoebe.
