The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had sent a notice for illegal construction to Amitabh and several others a few years ago. This matter is now again raised by the Congress CouncilloThe r Advocate Tulip Brian Miranda. Bachchan councilor has accused the BMC of not taking any action despite serving a notice to the actor some years ago. After Tulip’s taking up the issue, the BMC has once again swung into action on the 2017 notice and will demolish a part of Prateeksha, Amitabh Bachchan’s first bungalow in Mumbai. While interacting with one of the news agencies, the councilor said that the BMC gave first notice to Bachchan in 2017 under road widening policy, but no action was taken on it. She further said that if it would have been a common person, BMC would have taken action in no time under section 299 of the Municipal Act which states that one does not have to wait for the second notice appeal. It has come to notice that the road widening of Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg, which connects the Chandan Cinema area to Link Road, was stuck because of Amitabh’s bungalow. The Civic Body has been instructed to demarcate the exact portion of the bungalow which is required for the widening of the road.
