Subhash Ghai has walked the Indian film firmament like a colussus for over 4 decades.
On 24 January Bollywood is celebrating the birthday of the one of the biggest showmans of Indian cinema, Subhash Ghai, has always presented entertainment with a very powerful social package.
He was born on 24 January 1945 is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter, known for his works predominantly in Hindi cinema. His most notable works include ‘Kalicharan’ (1976), ‘Vishwanath’ (1978), Maeri(1976), Karz (1980), Hero (1983), Meri Jung (1985), Karma (1986), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Pardes (1997), Taal (1999), and Black & White (2008).
He has won every possible film award in the country
1998: Filmfare Award, for Best Screenplay, film – Pardes.
2005: IIFA Award for outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema.
2006: National Film Award, for the Best Film on Other Social Issues: Iqbal (Producer).

Like every Self-made successful person Subhash Ghai also went through the challenges of dealing the new world he wanted to enter after passing out from FTII, he came to Bombay but was not allowed to enter any studio as he was unknown.
It was Dale Carnegie who helped him a lot and guided him, how to get the door opened for him.
He read his book How to make friends and influence people, and used techniques given in it to help him try and enter the film industry.
In his struggling days, Subhash Ghai got a chance to participate in the United Producers Filmfare talent contest. Out of the 5,000 participants, he was one among the three people were selected in it, along with, Rajesh Khanna and Dheeraj Kumar.
He was born in Nagpur and his father was a dentist in Delhi. He completed his secondary education from Delhi and completed graduation from Rohtak Haryana. After his graduation, he went to Pune and joined the Film and Television Institute of India.
He married to a girl named Rehana alias Mukta. He has a two daughters Meghna Ghai puri and Muskaan Ghai.
In 1982, he started Mukta Arts Private Limited which, in 2000, became a public company, with Subhash Ghai as its executive chairman. In 2006, he received the National Film Award, for producing the socially relevant film Iqbal, in the same year he founded the Whistling Woods International film and media institution in Mumbai. He received the IIFA Award for outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema In 2015.
