Eros Now which is the digital platform of Eros International has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. The company has defaulted on payments of some vendors after taking their creative and technical services. One of the vendors who was supposed to be paid Rs. 20 Lacs for a project that he and his team did hasn’t been paid yet. As per him, in normal circumstances, the payment is released after 45 days, but there has been a delay of almost 150 days from Eros. The company keeps telling him that the payment will happen but nothing has been done in this regard. There are many such individuals who are bearing the brunt. One such person says that he had been working on a digital campaign for them, but mid-way was asked to stop it. He had already invested the advance money he received from the company into the project and now has been left high and dry. What has added to their woes is the fact that the company’s office is shut as everyone is working from home. Besides, they don’t even pick calls. All this has led to a very precarious situation for the vendors who have started to express their disgruntlement on social media platforms.
