Laal Singh Chaddha, the remake of Forrest Gump, has been rescheduled from Christmas this year to Valentine’s Day in 2022. A source close to the project confirms that Aamir Khan and producers at Viacom 18 have voluntarily moved the date to February next year. The Christmas week during which it was earlier supposed to release already has Ranveer Singh’s 83 as well as Cirkus and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey lined up. Aamir Khan has gracefully bowed out of the slot and decided to defer the date of his movie. As per Luv Ranjan, who is planning a 2022 slot for his Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, the protocol needs to be taken into account for releases now. According to him, now that the theatres are re-opening, producers who have been patiently waiting for the release of their projects should be given the right way. One cannot jump the queue, which is morally the right thing to do. Filmmakers like Rohit Shetty and Kabir Khan have been waiting patiently for their film’s release and should be given priority, while others can wait.
