BTS’ Newly Released Single Breaks Four Guinness World Records

The world’s biggest band, BTS, has once again gone on to break records with its newly released summer song Butter. After a clean sweep at the Billboard Music Awards 2021, where they won all the four categories they were nominated for, the South Korean Band, with their second English single, has broken four Guinness World Records and one group record.  With crisp synth sounds and distinctive baselines, Butter, a dance-pop track, has already become listeners’ favorite. On May 25, Guinness World Records confirmed that the new single has broken the record for the most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube, with 3.9 million watching it on May 21. This record was previously held by BTS themselves with 3 million views for the premiere of their last single Dynamite. Butter has also broken the record for the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours with more than 10 crore views. Furthermore, they have also broken the record for the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-Pop group. In addition to breaking the YouTube records, Butter has garnered more than a crore global streams on Spotify in a single day in the first 24 hours. Apart from the four records that BTS has broken with Butter, the Guinness World Records has also confirmed that as of April 27, the music of BTS has been streamed more than 16 billion times on Spotify, breaking the record of the most-streamed act on it. With 23 world records against its name, BTS today is one of the most powerful music groups in the world.
