Universal Pictures has got its hands on an original pitch from George Nolfi, the American screenwriter director. This fact-based drama will be based on the Afghanistan evacuation. It is said that Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy have been roped in to play the lead roles in the film.
As per the reports on a leading entertainment portal, the story of the movie will revolve around three former special task force members who are called to be in the thick of things along with their Afghan counterparts to rescue families as well as allies because of the rapid fall of Afghanistan’s regime which took place recently in August. Ryan Jones, the Senior Vice President from Universal will oversee the project, whereas Tatum, Hardy, and Jules Daly will produce it.
Nolfi will be one of the executive producers for this yet-to-be-titled film. George Nolfi is well known for The Bourne Ultimatum and has recently written and directed Apple TV+ original, The Banker.
