Amidst speculations of Maidaan coming on a pay-per-view format, the producers of the Ajay Devgn starrer have issued a statement that denies such a possibility, at least as of now. The statement was issued on behalf of Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, where the rumors of the sports drama going the OTT way have been quashed. The statement issued on the producers’ behalf said that there is currently no conversation with any streaming platform for the pay-per-view release of the film and that the present focus is to complete the film keeping in mind everyone’s safety and full compliance with the Government protocols. It further added that in case of any news regarding Maidaan, one can reach out to the producers. The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and is scheduled to release in Dusshera this year. Inspired by the Indian football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim, who coached the National team from 1950 till his passing away in 1963, and who is known to change the face of modern Indian football, Maidaan is expected to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
