Both the editions of Baahubali have set a benchmark in the Indian Film Industry. The iconic characters of the movie have become a household name within no time. With so much happening around this S.S. Rajamouli blockbuster, it was decided to make a prequel on Ramya Krishnan’s character Sivagami. The shooting for this exclusive Netflix release had already begun with Mrunal Thakur playing the role of younger Sivagami, but the makers weren’t happy with the way things were shaping up and scrapped the project mid-way. A source says that 70% of the movie was already made before it was decided to pull the plug as the makers did not want to compromise on the quality. They are now putting the pieces back together with a completely changed cast. The source further adds that since Mrunal did not have any dates, it was decided to replace her with Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who has played small parts in movies like Jab We Met, Mausam, and Love Aaj Kal.
