Veteran actor Shri Arvind Tiwari known best for his portrayal of Ravana in Ramanand Sagar cult epic Ramayana, is no more. As confirmed by his family, he breathed his last yesterday night. According to a tabloid, Kaustubh Trivedi, who is ShriTrivedi’s nephew, confirmed the news of the actor not keeping well for a while. He suffered a heart attack on October 5, which led to multi-organ failure. His last rites will be held on Wednesday in Mumbai. Apart from Ramayana, he was also seen in Vikram Aur Betaal. Arvind was also a member of parliament from 1991 to 1996 and the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification between 2002 and 2003. Arvind’s co-stars from Ramayana, Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhlia, and Sunil Lahiri paid heartfelt tributes to the fine actor and human being he was.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his social media to share his condolences. Calling Shri Trivedi not only an exceptional actor but also a passionate public servant, he said that his work in Ramayana will be remembered for generations to come. Shri Arvind Trivedi featured in more than 300 movies across Hindi and Gujarati cinema.
