After allegations came to light of tampering in the book of accounts that were related to Sonu Sood and his companies, the Incomes Tax Department has surveyed the actor’s premises in Mumbai as well as an office in Lucknow. Sood has been in the news since last year for the immense philanthropic work that he has done during the pandemic. There have even been speculations that he may join politics. The income tax survey comes weeks after the actor met the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The chief minister had then declared him the brand ambassador of the Delhi Government’s mentorship program for students. After the meeting, it was speculated that Sood may join the Aam Aadmi Party but nothing like that has happened, and even the actor has gone on to maintain silence on it. Sonu Sood did a phenomenal job last year through his foundation when the nationwide lockdown left people helpless. He and his team took the responsibility of moving people to their hometowns and made arrangements ranging from transportation to food.
