Pippa’s Shoot Begins

Ishaan Khatter, on Wednesday, began the first schedule of his war film, Pippa in Amritsar. The makers also went on to release the first look of the movie yesterday. The poster shows Ishaan portraying the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. On the launch of the first look, Raja Krishna Menon, who is directing the film, said that he is beyond excited to venture into this field with the talented cast and crew that he has. Menon added, they have been working hard for this day and look forward to bringing this incredible story of courage to the audience. The inauguration of the shoot was blessed with the presence of Brigadier Mehta himself, who was invited for the slate clap. RSVP’s Ronnie Screwvala, who is producing the film, said that kicking off the shoot on such a positive note would ensure a steady momentum throughout the making. He further added that they are raring to go with an exceptional cast and someone like a Raja Krishna Menon, who has an eye for war movies. Sidharth Roy Kapur from Roy Kapur Films, who also happens to be the producer, shared that from the time he first heard this amazing story, he knew, it had to be told to the audience. He added that the team is hopeful to bring a very special cinematic experience to the audience next year. Pippa is an adaptation of The Burning Chaffees, written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, and will be about a heroic tank battle during the Indo-Pak war in 1971 that led to the liberation of Bangladesh.
