The Bandra Metropolitan Court has ordered the Mumbai Police to register an FIR against Kangana Ranaut for Copyright infringement. The author of Didda: The Warrior Queen of Kashmir, Ashish Kaul has accused Ranaut of copyright violation. According to Kaul, he has the exclusive copyright to the life story of Didda, the Princess of Lohar (Poonch). Kangana, in a Twitter post last month announced the sequel of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi & named it Manikarnika: The Legend of Didda. According to the complaint filed by Kaul, he had approached Kangana to write down a foreword for the Hindi version of his book. She, however, took some part of the story in her tweet and announced the movie without his permission. An FIR has been registered against Kangana Ranaut under various IPC sections as well as the Copyright Act. She is already facing a string of cases against her including the defamation case, the hearing for which is scheduled on March 15.
