Sardar Uddham Singh, starring Vicky Kaushal, which was announced by Shoojit Sircar back in 2019, will now skip the theatrical release. The movie will have Vicky play the role of the revolutionary freedom fighter in it. The shoot, although, was wrapped in 2019 itself, post-production took a lot of time, and it further got delayed due to the pandemic. As per the latest which we have got from the movies den, Sardar Uddham Singh will now premiere on Amazon Prime Video during the Dusshera weekend. No confirmation has come on the exact date however, the release is likely to be on October 16. The makers waited patiently for the situation to normalize and were keen on a theatrical release, but with many restrictions still on, rather than delaying things further, they have decided to go ahead with the digital release on the OTT giant. The film has been extensively shot abroad in countries like Russia, Germany, UK, and Ireland. It is set against the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and will revolve around the story of Sardar Uddham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer to seek revenge for the incident.
