Sports biopics have become one of the most sought-after by any producer who wants to make it big in the entertainment industry. Recently Luv Ranjan announced his biopic on the former Indian Cricket Team Skipper Sourav Ganguly. However, as per a source, producer Karan Johar too was planning a biopic on Yuvraj Singh, which would have come out before Dada’s. The fine cricketer that Yuvraj was, his biopic too could be a making of a phenomenal project. Taking this into consideration, Karan Johar was keen on making a cricketer-centric flick and even had multiple meetings with the former Indian cricketer and his team. He was on the verge of buying rights and wanted someone from the current generation to play Yuvraj. He had zeroed upon Siddhant Chaturvedi to play the lead due to his face structure which resembles the cricketer in every sense. That said, Yuvraj was crystal clear that the character would be played by an A-listers. He had shared two names of his choice- Hrithik Roshan & Ranbir Kapoor. Karan, on the other hand, felt that a new face would have justified Yuvraj better as he could have given the required time for the project. Besides, he also felt that the sports icon that Yuvraj is, his story would have worked out regardless of who is playing him in the movie. Both, Yuvraj and Johar weren’t on the same page and eventually decided to call it quits.
