And The Award For the Most Globes Goes To…Netflix

It was an absolute field day for the OTT giant Netflix as it won 10 Golden Globe awards, the most by any digital platform. The prominent winners were The Crown, which won the best drama series & Queen’s Gambit that went on to grab the best limited series award. The Crown also received three acting awards for Emma Corin who played Princess Diana, Josh O’ Conner who portrayed Prince Charles and Gillian Anderson for donning the role of Margaret Thatcher. Chadwick Boseman was honoured posthumously with the best actor in a drama series award for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom while Anya Taylor-Joy won the award for best actress in a limited series for Queen’s Gambit. Actress Rosamund Pike also won an award for her performance in I Care A Lot and so did Aaron Sorkin for the screenplay in Trial of the Chicago 7. Disney was the next most awarded OTT platform as it won 5 accolades for Soul, Nomadland, and The United States vs. Billie Holliday while Amazon and BBC had to be content with 3 awards each. As for the movies, the biggest winners of the 78th Golden Globes were Nomadland and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm which won awards for best picture in the drama category and the comedy division respectively.
