Not so long ago, Shankar, who is one of the finest directors from the South, had announced that he will be soon making a film with Ranveer Singh. The film will be the remake of his Tamil hit Anniyan and will be bankrolled by Jayantilal Gada. However, as soon as the Hindi remake was announced, it got entangled into a controversy as the producer of the Tamil version Aascar Ravichandran moved to the court stating that he held the rights for the film. Not only that, Aascar has now come out in open and said that he will be producing the remake of the same film in both Hindi and English, and it will be bigger than Shankar’s. Aascar plans to take a Bollywood actor as well as an international star in this remake. The producer is planning to announce the movie before December. In a statement given to one of the portals, Aascar said that everyone thinks that he has asked for money, as there is a copyright issue, but, as per him, he has never looked to have any monetary gains from the case he has filed. He adds that Anniyan is his property, and someone is misguiding Jayantilal Gada. As far as the case which he has filed is concerned, Ravichandran said that the South Indian Film Chamber is supporting him and Shankar will be sent a letter soon. He confirmed that as he is the author of Anniyan, he has the copyright of the film.
