The makers of Maidaan and Hyderabad Football Club have announced a partnership. The idea is to work collectively with a focus to boost grassroots football in Hyderabad as well as the entire country. Maidaan stars Ajay Devgn as coach Syed Abdul Rahim and is based on the golden era of Indian football. Talking about the association, the film’s producer, Boney Kapoor, said that their collaboration with Hyderabad FC is the first of its kind in the industry. Calling it a natural fit, the producer says that Maidaan brings to the fore the struggles and victories of the then coach, Shri Syed Abdul Rahim, just the way Hyderabad FC has overcome their challenges and rose with sheer grit and determination. The partnership will unearth and nurture young sporting talents in the country. The co-owner of Hyderabad FC, Varun Tripuraneni, said that they are honored to be associated with Maidaan, and this partnership will celebrate the legacy of Syed Abdul Rahim, who is an inspiration not only to the Hyderabad FC players but also to the football community across the country. He added this association will take football in every corner of the country and will go on to promote the sport amongst the young and aspiring footballers. Notably, Hyderabad FC is co-owned by Rana Daggubati along with Varun Tripuraneni.
