In a surprising yet understandable move, Anupam Kher has exited medical drama, New Amsterdam, as a series regular. He played the part of Dr. Vijay Kapoor, who apparently has resigned from his duties in the current season which focuses on COVID-19. This development comes after it was reported a few weeks ago about Anupam Kher’s wife, Kirron battling cancer. The 66-year-old talented actor, whose credits also include Silver Lining Playbook and Sense8, has been a part of this David Schulner’s series since it first appeared in 2018. The news of his exit came on Tuesday night’s episode in which staffers of the Bellevue Hospital got to know that Dr. Kapoor has resigned from his services.
