Post her marriage to American singer Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra has been slammed and labelled a modern-day slam artist by New York based journalist Mariah in an article written for The Cut magazine.
Titled ‘Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Love for Real?’ the writer took a dig at both Priyanka and Jonas with her coming heavily on our desi Priyanka. The article further said that Priyanka has admitted to being over indulgent where lavishing expensive gifts on herself is concerned. Mariah further pointed out that Priyanka has trapped Nick Jonas using her well-oiled PR machinery in the USA and that Jonas, a decade younger than Priyanka prefered older women and hence married her.
The article received severe backlashing from various people online both from India and abroad terming the article racist and reeking of envy and specially when written by woman writer.
Actress Sonam Kapoor was one of the early ones who slammed the writer and the publication on Twitter.

Ultimately The Cut had to delete the article but not before the magazine and it’s journalist Mariah Smith got a sound backlash on social media.
