Anupam Kher has received the Best Actor award for the short film Happy Birthday at the New York City International Film Festival- NYCIFF. Happy Birthday talks about the various feelings of the actor, particularly his attachment to the one thing he loves. It also went on to win the Best Short Film award at the well-acclaimed film festival.
Directed by Prasad Kadam, the movie is produced by FNP Media and stars veteran actor Kher and Aahana Kumra. Speaking upon his win, Anupam Kher thanked the NYCIFF for the great honor. He credited his win to the entire cast and crew of Happy Birthday and said it’s humbling to be declared the Best Actor. The movie’s co-producer Girish Johar said that it is overwhelming to receive two awards at an International Film Festival.
He called Anupam Kher a global icon and a pure genius and was also all-praises for Aahana Kumra, who was also nominated in the Best Actress category. Meanwhile, director Prasad Kadam and FNP Media are once again collaborating for their next film, which is scheduled to release this year itself.
