India is battling the devastating second wave of Coronavirus, which has not only shaken us psychologically but has taken a toll on our medical infrastructure as well. Many celebrities and social organizations have started to muster resources to ensure that help reaches the needy within no time.
The latest to give the much-required push to this initiative has come from Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma. The power couple aims to raise Rs. 7 crores for COVID relief in India. They are kickstarting a fundraiser campaign, #InThisTogether which will be on the crowd-funding platform Ketto. To start with, the couple has already put Rs. 2 crores for the initiative. #InThisTogether will run for seven days on Ketto, and the proceeds from it will be directed to ACT Grants, the implementation partners for this campaign.
ACT has been working extensively in the medical manpower, oxygen, telemedicine facilities, and vaccination awareness gamut throughout the pandemic, and the amount that Virat & Anushka intend to raise will surely help the cause further. Speaking on the development, Anushka said that we hope these funds will aid in our fight against the virus and the pain and suffering which is being witnessed.
Virat, on the other hand, said that they have started this fundraiser with the confidence that a substantial amount will be raised to aid the ones in dire need.
