Jathi Ratnalu, the Telugu comedy flick, which released this year starring Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna, is termed as one of the funniest movies ever made in the Telugu Cinema landscape. The movie got major praise for its funny one-liners and a crazy plot. The film’s phenomenal run at the box office has made it an obvious choice for Bollywood to remake it.
The makers of Jathi Ratnalu have already started getting offers from Bollywood producers for its special screening. This contemplated Naveen Polishetty to turn to one of the biggest producers in Bollywood, Sajid Nadiadwala to watch the movie. Naveen & Sajid have already collaborated in the 2019 hit, Chhichhore. As per a source from Hyderabad, Sajid on being recommended by Naveen watched the movie and even loved it. He also praised Naveen’s work in the movie and was happy that he had delivered such a big blockbuster. However, Sajid did not give a go-ahead for its remake as he felt that the subject of the movie did not have the appeal to be remade in Hindi.
The source added that Nadiadwala was of an opinion that the subject and the one-liners of the movie had a very local feel to it which is very exclusive to that part of the world. Hence, he did not go ahead with buying its Hindi rights. But it looks like other producers from Bollywood have already started queuing up for the movie, and the talks of acquiring the rights are very much on.
