Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom will be releasing on July 27. It is neither a Friday nor any holiday, yet the makers have opted for a mid-week release. As per an industry insider, that’s because 2+7=9, which happens to be Akshay’s lucky number, and hence the decision was taken to release this period action thriller on July 27. However, there is no decision taken on whether there will be only paid previews or will it be a full-day release. According to a trade expert, Mid-week releases are rare. There have been exceptions like Jab Tak Hain Jaan & Son of Sardaar, which were released on a Tuesday. But again, that’s because the day was Diwali. Last Year, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari was released on a Sunday, which was post-Diwali, and apparently, it was one of the big movies releasing after a gap. The trade expert adds that in the case of Bell Bottom, it is neither a Diwali nor an Eid. It is just that the makers are confident of the product. The makers and the actor made a surprise announcement a couple of days back about the date of the release of the movie.
