The legal battle between Kangana Ranaut and Javed Akhtar is here to stay. The last time Kangana couldn’t appear in the court, she was summoned by the authority. The actress now has asked the court to exempt her from making an in-person appearance for the hearings. She has even promised that her non-appearance shall in no way hamper the court proceedings. In her plea to the court, it has been stated that she is one of the top actresses of the Indian Film Industry who has been the recipient of several coveted accolades like National Awards and has also been honored with Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. The plea further states that by virtue of being an actress, she has to travel across the country and even to international locations due to her professional commitments. There are huge monetary investments made by the production houses in booking shoot locations where the actress essentially needs to participate. Due to this, attending court hearings on a regular basis will require her to travel miles from different shoot locations to Mumbai. Concluding the plea, she has said that all this could lead to heavy financial implications for her. She has promised that her non-appearance will not be a hurdle in the court proceedings, and she will appear through her advocate. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 27, and Javed Akhtar’s lawyers will file their say on Kangana’s plea. The case dates back to the time when Kangana Ranaut had dragged Javed Akhtar’s name in the death row of Sushant Singh Rajput on various news channels.
