It’s been 5 years to be precise when ace actor Aamir Khan led a consortium of stars to create Bollywood’s 100 Crore Club with his Ghajini. It was a start to a new revolution that over the years have steadily seen new entrants to the club including the latest to join the bandwagon being nothing less than a biopic on a living legend, the Flying Sikh – Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which earned about Rs.102 crores at the box office till date and counting.

Not to be outdone, our Chulbul Pandey aka Salman Khan showed his ‘Khan’ power with his histrionics in Dabangg in 2010. After all Khan Khan ki baat hai.
Rohit Shetty who is gearing up for his big film Chennai Express tomorrow showed why he is the king of masala potboilers with three films in the elite club and in the race to add the fourth with his new release Chennai Express.
However, the latest to join the master league has been the biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, on the life of the legendary sprinter the Flying Sikh Milkha Singh. This is the first film of this genre to feature in the 100 crore club.
With Ghajini and the latest Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, all these 21 films have raised the bars for other films to follow suit. But despite all these films raking in the big moolah at the domestic box office, none has been able to unseat the perfectionist’s position at the top with his 3 Idiots.
2012 had been a great year for the Hindi film industry with nothing less than 9 films claiming membership to the elite Bollywood’s 100 Crore Club and grabbing their rightful place in the spotlight preceded by 5 films in the previous year.
In the first 6 months at the Box Office in 2013, three films (Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag) have already become a part of this elite gang with some big ticket films lined up to release over the next few months starting with Chennai Express tomorrow.
