Jersey was almost supposed to be released on December 31 but had to be rescheduled due to the rising COVID-19 cases. The much-awaited film now has a new release date. The film, which stars Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, will now hit the theatres on April 14. The news was initially confirmed by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh and later confirmed by Shahid Kapoor himself on his social media handle. The film has already gone through a lot when it comes to deferring its release date. It was initially supposed to hit the theatres on August 28 but was pushed further because of the pandemic. It is the story of a cricketer who returns to the field in his 30s by joining the national cricket team just so that he can inspire his son. Jersey is a Telugu remake of the same name, released in 2019. Both versions have been helmed by Gotham Tinnanuri. With the new release date, Jersey will now clash with KGF 2.
