After a long time, a movie album has a mix bag of goodies but still somehow sound pleasant to the ears thanks to its youthful compositions.
With music by Sajid-Wajid, some of the inane lyrics easily pass off as chart busters thanks to some peppy music and picturisations of the videos.
The first song that hit the market has been inspired by the Airtel jingle ‘Har Ek Friend Zaroori Hota Hai’. Titled ‘Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai’, the song is peppy and gets you in the groove. Sung by Sonu Nigam and with an insane video to go hand in hand with some inane lyrics, this track is indeed humourous to the core.
And then there’s a peppy romantic number ‘Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom’ sung by Ali Zafar and Shreya Ghosal. One can’t help but fall in love with this number reminiscent of the 80s. Listen to it a couple of times and you won’t be able to get it out of your system. Ali Zafar seems to have had a blast singing this song that has been picturised on him as well in the film.
Mika Singh’s ‘Ishq Mohallah’ fails to tingle your musical senses and the choice of English/Hindi lyrics leave much to be desired.
However, Sonu Nigam’s ‘Early Morning’ more than makes up for the failure of Mika Singh. This again is a fun filled number with the remix version sung by Ali Zafar. Both the songs are music to the ears.
And the final track ‘Andha Ghoda Race Mein Daud’ falls flat despite having some rock music to boost it up.
On the lyrical front, Kausar Munir provides the only saving grace with ‘Har Ek…’ Neelesh Misra and Jaleesh Sherwani disappoint with their choice of lyrics and words.
All said and done, the album is worth the listen only for ‘Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai’ and ‘Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom’ which will set you humming and tapping your toes.
