Deepika Padukone is known to be doing her bit when it comes to a social initiative or donating for a good cause quite regularly. In 2020, she had worked in Meghna Gulzar’s film, Chhapaak, which was about the acid attack survivor named Laxmi Agarwal. The movie had several real-life acid-attack victims in it, of which was Bala Prajapati, who is currently undergoing treatment for a critical kidney ailment at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. She requires an immediate kidney transplant which is pegged at around Rs. 16 lacs. Her condition is deteriorating by the day as both her kidneys have failed. She is surviving on dialysis and is in a critical state. Chhanv Foundation has come forward to Bala’s aid and has started a fundraising campaign named Save Bala. The donations have already begun on the crowdfunding platform Milap. As soon as this news reached Deepika, she came out to join hands with Chhanv and donated a whopping 15 lacs to the Save Bala campaign. The foundation is seeking as much support as possible to arrange the rest of the amount, which will be enough for the 25-year old Bala to come out from the tragedy. On the work front, Deepika will be next seen in ’83 opposite Ranveer Singh and has also recently announced her Hollywood untitled project, which she will co-produce as well.
