Assets worth Rs. 1.40 crores of Dino Morea have got seized in a fraud case which is linked to Rs. 14500 crore bank loan scam by Gujarat-based businessmen Sandesara Brothers. Along with Dino, late Congress leader’s son-in-law Irfan Siddiqui and DJ Aqeel’s assets too have got seized. Enforcement Directorate, while probing a money laundering case, has found substantial proof of transactions between Sandesara’s and Dino Morea, Irfan Siddiqui, and DJ Aqeel. As per the ongoing investigation, Dino Morea received Rs. 1.40 crores, whereas Irfan Siddiqui and DJ Aqeel received Rs. 12.54 crores and Rs. 3.51 crores respectively from the Sandesara Brothers. As the proceeds have been found criminal by the ED, they have seized assets worth Rs. 1.40 crores of Dino, Rs. 2.41 crores of Irfan Siddiqui, and Rs. 1.98 crores of DJ Aqeel. The ED has further confirmed that out of Rs. 16000 crores that are considered as proceeds of crime in this case, assets worth Rs.14521 have already got attached. The case also involves Rs. 14500 bank loan fraud by Sterling Biotech, and as per the investigating agency, it is a bigger scam than the Punjab National Bank fraud that involved Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi.
