Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most complete actors from India today. He has gone on to prove himself, both on the big screen as well as the OTT landscape. He has been an outsider who has moved up the ranks due to his sheer commitment to acting excellence. In one of the statements given by him recently, the actor has cited an issue that is plaguing the industry, and it doesn’t have to do anything with nepotism.

The actor has bagged an EMMY nomination for Sudhir Mishra’s Serious Men. While he was talking about it to an entertainment portal, the actor went on to say that he wants his co-star in the film, Indira Tiwari, to get a lead role soon. The reason we believe he is saying so is that there is too much racism in the industry. He said that Sudhir Mishra took Indira in his movie for her talent, but other banners in the industry, prefer a certain color before making their potential choice for a member of the cast. According to Nawazuddin, more than nepotism, there is a problem of racism in the industry. He added that he has faced the heat because of this. He did not get many roles at the start of his career since he was short and due to the way he looked. Although, he cannot complain much today, but finds other talented actors struggling because of racism and therefore losing out on work.
