Although Shah Rukh Khan has taken some time off from his shoot schedule due to his son’s arrest, his production company, Red Chillies, is working as per their routine. Atlee’s next, which has Khan in it, is continuing with its shoot as per the schedule, with Shah Rukh Khan’s body double being used currently.
The production house is also gearing up to bring its next film on floors. Reportedly, Red Chillies is all set to start filming for an investigative crime-thriller called Bhakshak, for which the makers have already roped in Bhumi Pednekar. She will be seen playing the role of a journalist who unearths a horrific scam that was prevalent in Bihar. Bhakshak will be directed by Pulkit, who has helmed Rajkummar Rao starrer Bose: Dead or Alive.
Pulkit has also written the movie and is planning to begin the shoot as early as January 2022. If reports are to be believed, the film is based on the 2018 Muzzafarpur shelter home case where dozens of girls residing in the shelter were abused and tortured. After a nationwide outrage, the CBI took over the case, and in January last year, the prime accused was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by the Delhi High Court. It was Arjun Kapoor, given the role of the lead initially, but due to the delay because of the pandemic, he could not accommodate the dates and hence had to back out. That is when the makers decided to take Bhumi Pednekar and made it a female-led thriller drama.
