The scar of the pandemic is still prominent yet it did not mar the showcase of one of the biggest entertainment awards in the world. With the 2021 Golden Globes that took place on Sunday, February 28, the award season is officially ON!! Though, understandably the awards were conducted differently this year with Presenters walking the red carpet either from New York or Beverly Hills and Nominees tuning in virtually from the comfort of their couches across the world, yet the awards night delivered big time.

It was Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, who kicked off the ceremony by hosting the event from separate coasts. Prior to this year’s version, they had already hosted the show in 2013, 2014 & 2015. As the extravaganza started, they took a dig at the Hollywood Press Association for not having any black Hollywood Foreign Press members and also slammed the nominated TV Series, Emily in Paris with a sarcastic comment.

The 78th Annual ceremony was held almost 02 months late under the dark shadow of the pandemic, which still looks far from over in the US. Perhaps, the highlight of the evening was Actress Jane Fonda’s powerful message on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry while collecting her Cecil B. deMille award and a tear-filled speech by Taylor Simone Ledward upon receiving the posthumous award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture- Drama on behalf of her late husband Chadwick Boseman.
