Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, and Sanjay Dutt, was supposed to be released in 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. The dates then were shifted further from 2021 as the nation came under the grips of the second wave of COVID-19.
The movie has a release date of March 18 this year, but with rising cases, theatres across many states are shutting down owing to several filmmakers’ once again deferring their respective releases. But has all this prompted Shamshera director Karan Malhotra to think about an OTT release for the movie? In a chat with one of the news channels, Karan said that it is premature to say anything about Shamshera now as everyone is going through a time which is vulnerable and unpredictable.
Upon being questioned if they were eyeing an OTT release, the director said that it was completely Aditya Chopra’s jurisdiction as he would know that best. He adds that he has given his best as a director of the film, and it is now in the hands of the country’s best producer, who is nurturing it further.
