The 67th National Film Awards have been announced in New Delhi today. The awards are announced for the year 2019. The 67th edition was supposed to be held in May last year but had to be postponed due to the nationwide lockdown because of the pandemic. The event comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and is organized every year by the Directorate of Film Festivals. For the year 2019, Kangana Ranaut has bagged the National Award for the best actress for her work in Manikarnika and Panga. The best actor award has been shared by Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush for their work in Bhonsle and Asuran respectively. As far as movies are concerned, Late Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Chhichhore has won the best Hindi film award. Asuran has been named as best Tamil film and Jersey best Telugu film.
