Hollywood Superstar, Brad Pitt will be reviving the legendary studio, Studio Miraval. The place has gone into shambles, however, a major renovation will see it stand up again for a new generation of star musicians by the summer of 2022.
The 900-acre property near the French Riviera has seen legendary rock superstars like Pink Floyd, The Cure, and AC/DC journey through it during the 1970s and 80s and create some pathbreaking and landmark records. This facility dates back to 1977 when a French Jazz Pianist, the then owner, decided to build a studio. The facility was used up until 20 years back when its analog equipment was given too much responsibility to take care of. As per a report, the facility is set to be revived again.
It is nestled into a winemaking estate and has three houses where artists lived during their recordings. The studio itself measured 3000 square feet and had a 650 square foot control room. Miraval was purchased in 2012 by Brad Pitt and his then partner Angelina Jolie for $60 million.
The couple married in the Chapel at Miraval itself. However, when the couple divorced in 2016, Brad took over the property and parted ways with the winery which was in the middle of the estate, and sold it to the Perrin Family. Brad will now oversee the spectacular renovation of the studio, which will open its gates for business from 2022 summer. To execute this project to the hilt, Pitt has sought the help of a Paris-based music engineer, Damien Quintard, who has contributed to the development of the Dolby Atmos system. When Miraval Studios opens in 2022, it will yet again be available for recording major labels.
