A couple of months back, it was confirmed of Mahesh Babu playing the role of Lord Ram in Madhu Mantena’s Ramayana. While Hrithik Roshan was finalized to play Ravana, Devi Sita’s role was to be played by Deepika Padukone. But in a sudden turn of events, it is now revealed that Mahesh Babu has rejected to be a part of the project. As per a source, Madhu & Nitesh are looking to startthe film’s shoot from mid-2022, and these dates coincide with SS Rajamouli’s next. Due to this, it was an obvious choice for Mahesh to choose Rajamouli over Mantena’s Ramayana. The Ramayana makers were sure of getting a nod from Mahesh Babu, but now that he has refused the offer, they are looking for another actor to play Lord Rama’s role. This Rajamouli movie which will have Mahesh Babu in it, will be an African jungle adventure written by KV Vijayendra Prasad.
