Inspired by the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim who is regarded as the architect of modern Indian Football, Maidaan will begin its fourth schedule of the shoot from February 14. The film is 65% complete & will be shot non-stop till April. Ajay Devgn will be joining the shoot from February 14 and after finishing his part of the schedule will rejoin the cast from March 10 to shoot the football sequences. The film also has Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. Co-produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan is scheduled to release on October 15.
