The last time we had spoken about Hungama 2, it was reported that the movie would premiere on Disney+Hotstar. This Priyadarshan directorial has been sold for Rs. 30 crores with a fresh cast like Shilpa Shetty, Meezaan Jaffry, and Johny Lever coming on board. The old ones who were part of 2003 Hungama, namely Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Manoj Joshi, will continue to be in key roles. We hear that even Akshaye Khanna, the lead in the 2003 flick, will play a cameo this time. As per a trade source, Hungama 2 will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on July 16, with its trailer hitting the digital world on July 1. It is sure to bring out laughs during these unprecedented times. The film also marks the return of Priyadarshan to the Hindi movie landscape after a long break, and needless to say, the expectations are pretty high. In addition to the 30 crores from the digital rights, Hungama 2 has pocketed around Rs. 7-8 crores from the satellite rights as well. And not to forget the music and ancillary rights of the movie, which will again add more bulk to the wallet. Overall, Hungama 2 has turned out to be a profitable proposition to everyone associated. Apart from Hungama 2, Ramesh Taurani’s Bhoot Police is planning a release around September on Disney+Hotstar.
