The iconic R. K. Studio in Chembur set up by the late Raj Kapoor is being sold by the Kapoor family. The 2-acre sprawling studio set up about in 1948 had witnessed one of the worst fires last year that destroyed a major portion of the studio. The decision to sell the studio was taken collectively by the Kapoor family when they reached the conclusion that it was not economically viable to rebuilt the structure destroyed by last year’s fire.
R. K. Studio had produced some of the most remarkable films starting from Barsaat (Raj Kapoor – Nargis) to the showman’s last film Ram Teri Ganga Maili.
